iPhone 7 price rumors suggest new storage options

iPhone 7 price rumors suggest new storage options

Another day, another batch of iPhone 7 rumors. The iPhone 7 price and storage capacity are in the spotlight today as a new report says two old storage option is going the way of the dinosaur although the pricing will stay the same.
It’s thought that Apple isn’t going to much with the iPhone 7 this year. The iPhone 8 release is assumed to be the next big thing from Apple although new colors and a revamped home button could be in the works for 2016. Not much has been said of the Apple iPhone 7 price, so many assumed it would stay the same barring any extreme changes under the hood or to the iPhone 7 design. Well, a new report from the Far East suggests consumers will lose not one, but two options in the storage department and that Apple will keep the pricing the same.
Apple is rumored to drop the 16GB edition of the iPhone 7, which may come as a huge surprise to some. The base model has arguably been one of their better sellers in years past, but with the rise of large apps, games, and high-def media, it appears they’ll nudge consumers towards the 32GB iPhone 7. The company is also rumored to send the 64GB model out the door as well, which means consumers will have a choice between the 32GB, 128GB, and the 256GB iPhone 7 in 2016.
Now for the iPhone 7 price. If the rumor proves true, the new base model 32GB iPhone 7 will be priced at 5288 Yuan or $795 while the 128GB will sell for 6088 Yuan/$915 and the big 256GB edition goes for 7088 Yuan, which shakes out to around $1,064. Keep in mind, that is just for the regular iPhone 7, not the Plus or Pro models as those are going to be quite a bit more expensive and basically require a loan for some folks if you want them unlocked.
You will definitely want to take this leak with a dose of salt as it would be a big deal if Apple decides to forgo the 16GB and 64GB models this year. As for the iPhone 7 price, that could be legit if the rest of the rumor proves although we’ll have to wait until September to truly find out what Apple has in store.

Oppo A30 now official but seems like the OnePlus X

Oppo A30 now official but seems like the OnePlus X

Now here’s a puzzling story for a quiet Saturday afternoon. Chinese manufacturer Oppo has introduced the A30 smartphone to its website although has not specified a price yet. So what’s unusual about that? Well, the Oppo A30 is now official but it seems just like the OnePlus X, the latest handset from OnePlus that released late last year.
Oppo’s official website now lists the Oppo A30 and it looks exactly the same as the OnePlus X. Not only that but the specs also seem to be virtually the same as those of the OnePlus X. Previously there have been rumors of ties between Oppo and OnePlus, and the arrival of the A30 seems to back that up, as it appears to be a rebranded OnePlus X.
Oppo A30 specs include a 5-inch display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter, and a 2525 mAh battery. The Oppo A30 supports 4G LTE and runs the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. It measures 140mm x 69mm x 6.9mm and weighs in at 138g. It’s listed as having a 2GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and this is one difference, as the OnePlus X has a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 processor. Also the OnePlus X runs the Android-based OxygenOS.
While no price has been listed for the Oppo A30 yet, rumors suggest it will be around CNY 1,999. At the time of writing that equates to around $306, £212, or €275, although there’s no news yet of whether it will be sold outside China. Seeing as the OnePlus X is already on sale in many markets there would seem to be little need for an international release of the Oppo A30.
We’re quite intrigued by the Oppo A30 and its similarity to the One Plus X and it will be interesting to see pricing and availability details from Oppo. What are your thoughts on the Oppo A30?

Oppo R9 and R9 Plus specs disclosed by TENAA sighting

Oppo R9 and R9 Plus specs disclosed by TENAA sighting

Recently Oppo started teasing the launch of its R9 smartphone, and we’ve previously heard some leaked specifications although these were not confirmed. However, the Oppo R9 and R9 Plus specs have now been disclosed as both phones have now passed through the TENAA certification process in China.
The Oppo R9 launch is expected later this month and rumored specs so far have indicated a high-end device. Now the R9 TENAA appearance gives us a better idea of specs, and there are several differences to the earlier leaked details. For example the processor is thought to be a 1.95GHz Helio X10 octa-core but earlier leaks suggested a Snapdragon 820 chipset.
The TENAA filing for the Oppo R9 reveals a 5.5-inch OLED display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080. It has 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage that’s expandable via microSD to 128GB. The phone has a 16-megapixel main camera at both the front and rear, and that’s a different arrangement to the 21/13-megapixel combo that was leaked earlier.
Further specs of the Oppo R9 are shown as a 2850 mAh battery and connectivity options of 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB etc. The phone will launch running the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and it’s a dual SIM device. The handset comes in Gold and Silver color choices and features a fingerprint sensor integrated with the Home button. It measures 151.8mm x 74.3mm x 6.5mm and weighs in at 145g.
The Oppo R9 Plus moves up to a larger 6-inch AMOLED display, also with Full HD resolution. It’s listed as having a 1.8GHz octa-core processor, possibly a Snapdragon 652 chip, and instead of 32GB of internal storage it moves up to 64GB. The R9 Plus also has a larger 4120 mAh battery, and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop. The cameras, RAM, and other specs are the same as for the regular R9. The handset comes in Gold or Rose Gold colors, measures 163mm x 80.8mm x 7.4mm, and weighs 185g.
There’s no firm news yet on pricing but the Oppo R9 is expected to have a price tag of around $350 to $400 on release. Thankfully we’re already in March so the official launch will soon come round and we’ll have confirmed information about a release date and more. If the price is right would you consider the Oppo R9 or Oppo R9 Plus?

Oppo Find 9 render emerges with sleek design

Oppo Find 9 render emerges with sleek design

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the Oppo Find 9 release date. While that is still up in the air, a new render has emerged that claims to show the smartphone up close and personal.
It’s safe to say many smartphones these days share a few features when it comes to the design. Whenever a company does manage to put out something unique, it tends to get folks amped up. If the new Oppo Find 9 render pans out, we have a feeling it could be very popular whenever it finally hits the streets.
Weibo is the source of the rumored Oppo Find 9 image, and to be frank, there is not much to go on. The device is believed to be the Find 9 due to the “Skyline Breathing Light” but we do not get to see the backside, so there is no obvious branding. Regardless, it is a good looking smartphone and the metal accents around the edge are a nice touch as well.
As for the Oppo Find 9 specs, we may have got a look at one of the variants through a benchmark listing a few months back. A device dubbed the Oppo X9007 was listed with a Snapdragon 820, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage with a 16MP/4MP camera combo in tow. The high-end model of the Find 9 will be a bit beefier as it’s tipped to roll out with a Snapdragon 821, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 5.5-inch QHD panel. You will want to take those with a large dose of salt unless it doesn’t debut until sometime next year.
While the new render is certainly slick, take it lightly at the moment considering the lack of branding. It could definitely be a device from Oppo, but there is no guarantee it’s the elusive Oppo Find 9. Needless to say, we are as curious about the handset as anyone, so we will keep you in the loop as more details come to light on the Oppo Find 9 release date.
